Ruffin is one of the founders of Rhodes+Brito Architects. Together, with his business partner Maximiano (Max) Brito, AIA, the company has grown from a two-person firm in 1996 to a staff of approximately 50 employees today. Currently the firm has two office locations – Orlando and Cape Canaveral AFB.

Ruffin manages the day-to-day office operations and business development activities of the firm. He is a Registered Architect with over 39 years of experience. His experience spans from federal courthouses to small community centers, from large military complexes to small public service endeavors. He is a well- rounded and experienced architect. Always eager to give back to the community, Ruffin has been actively involved in numerous community activities. He
has served on countless boards, including membership on the board of directors for Harbor House of Central Florida, Central Florida Coalition for the Homeless, Universal Branch of the Boys and Girls Club of Central Florida, and the National Conference of Community and Justice. In addition to this, he is a 1994 Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce Leadership Orlando Graduate.

Ruffin, the oldest of three children, is the son of a career Air Force Chief Master Sargent. Originally from Apalachicola Florida, and he graduated high school in Germany. Determined to the next phase of his life surrounded by African American culture, and near his grandparent’s home, Ruffin attended Florida A&M University. Ruffin completed both his Bachelor and Master’s degrees at FAMU. An avid traveler, Ruffin takes annual trips to every corner of the globe. He lives in Oviedo with his wife of 37 years, Sara. They are parents of two adult children, a Chihuahua named Spencer, and a grand cat. Ruffin is the world’s biggest Batman fan, thus the nickname Batman!
