Max Brito
AIA
Principal/Director of Design
Maximiano (Max) Brito, AIA, Born and raised in Red Bank, New Jersey, fell in love with architecture early. He received not one but two bachelor’s degrees in architecture from Florida A&M University. Max has lived and breathed architecture. His passion for delivering exceptional design, quality leadership, and giving back to the community was the inspiration for starting Rhodes+Brito Architects, Inc. in Downtown Orlando in 1996 with his partner Ruffin Rhodes. Rhodes+Brito was designated ‘Firm of the Year’ by the Orlando Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) in 2016. Since the founding of our company almost 28 years ago, Max has worked closely with local clients, non-profit organizations, esteemed peers, local government, and community leaders to help shape the future of Central Florida. As someone
who enjoys working directly with clients, he functions as a “hands-on” Designer and Project Manager on many of our largest and complex projects. His portfolio of 39 years includes extensive design experience in the delivery of large-scale aviation, mixed-use developments, and education projects. At his core he treasures the time he spends in the studio mentoring the next generation of architects.
Highly respected in the Central Florida community, Max serves on the Board of Directors for several charitable organizations. He received the Distinguished Alumni Award, and he and his partner also founded the Annual Rhodes + Brito Architects scholarship. In 2019 Max was the recipient of the Orlando Chapter American Institute of Architects (AIA), Nils Schweizer Community Service Award.
