GOAA Ground Transportation Facility & Rental Car Lobby

Orlando, Florida

Project Overview

The Orlando International Airport (OIA) South Terminal Complex – Ground Transportation Facility (GTF) & Rental Car Lobby (RAC) represent a key expansion of OIA’s Terminal C, enhancing passenger connectivity and experience across all modes of travel.

The project introduces an elevated, enclosed, and climate-controlled pedestrian bridge, approximately 450 feet in length, that links the Train Station / Intermodal Terminal Facility (ITF) and Parking Garage C to the Terminal C Landside. This new connection provides a seamless transition between air, rail, rental car, and ground transportation systems, ensuring intuitive wayfinding and an efficient passenger flow.

Spanning multiple levels, the GTF bridge integrates vertical circulation elements and moving walkways to create a direct, comfortable, and weather-protected route between major airport facilities. The design emphasizes transparency, daylight, and material continuity with Terminal C, reinforcing the airport’s identity as a modern, world-class travel hub. Completion of the GTF pedestrian bridge in 2025 marks a significant milestone in the airport’s long-term development strategy.

The Rental Car Lobby (RAC) serves as a central hub for all rental agencies, consolidating customer services in a single, easily accessible location. Designed for clarity, comfort, and operational efficiency, the RAC enhances passenger convenience while maintaining visual and spatial coherence with the adjacent GTF bridge and the broader terminal environment.

Currently under construction, the facility is scheduled for mid-2026, further extending the seamless, multi-modal travel experience envisioned for Orlando International Airport’s South Terminal Complex.
