Florida A&M University Development Research School
Tallahassee, Florida
Project Overview
Rhodes+Brito Architects was the prime architect and designer on the K-12 replacement school. The new school was located on a prominent green-field site on the south end of the Florida A&MUniversity Tallahassee campus. The school serves as a new gateway into the campus. The client requested a design in which each academic section (high, middle and elementary schools) would have their own unique and identifiable building.
The project was designed with flexibility for evening and weekend community programs in mind. All “community” buildings(gymnasium, administration, cafetorium and library) are located near the entrance to the campus creating a “front door.” Thisdesign assists in creating a more secure campus.
