Camping World Stadium

Orlando, Florida

Project Overview

Rhodes+Brito was hired to provide design services and played a key role in the design and construction of the Citrus Bowl project. Involved from the beginning in 2008 and in the “reinvention” of the project in 2013, Rhodes+Brito participated in the charrette process and played a key role in the decision-making moments along the way. As the local representative of Orlando, FL, Rhodes+Brito brought “local knowledge” to the team, including familiarity with the City and other local concerns and knowledge of specific nuances of the Florida Building Code relevant to the project. As the design progressed, Rhodes+Brito was responsible for the “100 level” structures—all buildings on the ground level, including the administrative buildings, team facilities, service and loading areas, central kitchen, primary concessions, and restroom facilities. These facilities included complete interior renovations of restrooms. Rhodes+Brito provided full-time on-site representation as the primary day-to-day interface between the design team, the Owner’s Representatives, the Program Manager, and the Construction Manager during construction. Camping World stadium has been such a success story that the City of Orlando engaged our design team at Rhodes+Brito to expand the seating capacity, increase concession and restroom services, and expand their club services by adding an interstitial VIP club level. The seating capacity was increased by approximately 4,000 seats and by adding a new upper bowl zone in the North end.
