Art² Park
Orlando, Florida
Project Overview
Art² is an urban pocket park that will be open to the public and will be developed on the southwest corner of Orange Ave. and Robinson St. Park amenities include a two-story container structure with a café, art gallery, stage, seating, and more. The Park will include audiovisual equipment throughout the footprint, space for two food trucks, green space for scheduled activities, and a downtown gateway feature.
The Art² Park project showcases the innovative reuse of shipping containers to create a dynamic, community-centered environment that blends industrial design with the vibrant culture of downtown Orlando.
Art² Park’s unique features highlight the versatility of shipping container construction, resulting in a visually striking urban park built partly from recycled materials to reduce waste and promote environmental sustainability. The design also incorporates insulated metal panels, several of which are fire-rated, to enhance safety and energy performance. Each container’s steel frame provides excellent load-bearing capacity, offering a solid platform for modular stacking and enabling the project’s distinctive multi-level configuration.

The development embraces a modern industrial aesthetic with exposed metal columns, beams, and corrugated steel walls. The adaptable interior and exterior spaces encourage urban activation, accommodating a variety of uses such as retail, food venues, and event spaces. Designed with a low environmental impact, the structure rests on minimal concrete footings and piers, reducing site excavation and preserving the surrounding landscape.
An open-air courtyard, second-level terrace, and integrated shading elements promote seamless connectivity between indoor and outdoor areas—enhancing comfort, flexibility, and social interaction throughout the site.
